Physical Therapy

Are you having issues with your mobility or experiencing general pain? Physical therapy may be the best option for you! In physical therapy, trained professionals evaluate and treat abnormal physical function related to an injury, disability, disease or condition. A physical therapist can diagnose physical abnormalities, restore physical function and mobility, maintain physical function and promote physical activity and proper function. If you think you could benefit from physical therapy, contact your primary care provider or specialist.

What can you expect during physical therapy?

Curious about what to expect from your physical therapy session? First, a physical exam and evaluation will take place. From there, you will receive a clinical diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care and short and long-term goals. Finally, you will receive physical therapy treatment and intervention based on evaluation and diagnosis.

Treatments

  • Spine: Physical therapy research indicates that manipulation combined with an exercise approach is more effective for both acute low back pain and chronic low back pain.
  • Shoulder: A manual approach is important to many conditions, including adhesive capsulitis (or “frozen shoulder”), and combined with exercise, is very effective in shoulder impingement.
  • Foot: A manual approach to tendonitis and fasciitis symptoms has been shown to be more effective than other treatments.
