Urology

228-575-1600

Urology Services provides a broad range of multidisciplinary care for conditions of the male and female urinary tract and reproductive system.

Diagnosis

State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment makes it possible to identify and pinpoint problems in very specific areas. Tests range from noninvasive ultrasound imaging for many urinary conditions to cystoscopy to get an inside view of the lining of the bladder. Biopsies and blood tests are scheduled as needed.

A Range of Treatment Options

Based on the diagnosis of the patient's condition, a urologist may determine that the patient needs something as simple as an antibiotic. Surgery, when necessary, is often nerve-sparing or minimally invasive. Laser lithotripsy for kidney stones is an example of a procedure the urologist might recommend to treat a particular condition. Many urologic surgical procedures can be performed with robot-assisted technology. Normal surgical complications may occur with surgery. Talk this over with your doctor.
