Pediatric Services

Our pediatric unit consists of private rooms dedicated solely to the care of children. Nurses work closely with the pediatrician or family physician.

Pediatric Cardiology is offered at Memorial, with pediatric cardiologists serving as active members of the Memorial medical staff. They are available for both inpatient and outpatient evaluation of children with various cardiac problems.

The Memorial Pediatric Playroom entertains and distracts young patients during their stay at Memorial Hospital. Patients between the ages of 2 and 16 may enjoy the five different centers, including a building center, grocery store, crafts center, and confetti cubby. A Game Center offers an air hockey table, Wii game system and dance pad game system.

The playroom was made possible in part by Gulfport Junior Auxiliary and is dedicated in memory of Rosemary Blakeslee, an outstanding life member and past president of Junior Auxiliary who was revered as a tremendous teacher and leader in the community.
