Posted Date: October 20, 2014

October 20, 2014 GULFPORT, Miss.—For the eighth consecutive year, National Research Corporation (NRC) has recognized Memorial Hospital at Gulfport among the nation’s top hospitals as a 2014/15 Consumer Choice Award winner. NRC has honored hospitals whose healthcare consumers have rated as having the best quality and image nationally. Memorial was selected as having the highest quality, best image/reputation, best doctors and best nurses. “We are proud to be ranked among the nation's most reputable hospitals and most appreciate being recognized for the quality of care we provide. Our physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff work together, each and every day, to meet the healthcare needs of the residents of the Gulf Coast,” said Gary Marchand, MPH, President/CEO, Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings. From the households surveyed, hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on their Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with the winning facilities being ranked the highest. NRC is recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the largest patient satisfaction firms in the U.S. Memorial was also recently ranked as best hospital in the Coastal Region of Mississippi for 2014-15 in the annual ranking of hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The magazine’s Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 25th year, recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging cases.
