We would like to thank Memorial volunteers for devoting their personal time and energy in providing assistance to our patients, their families and the hospital staff. Their compassion and commitment in caring for those in need is an inspiration to all.
As a volunteer at Memorial Hospital you could play a vital role in providing patient families with information, support and compassion. There are a variety of opportunities for individuals to make a positive impact on patients and their families during treatment.
Volunteers provide service in many areas such as:
- Delivering flowers to patients
- Providing general information
- Staffing waiting rooms
- Staffing the gift shop
- Escorting patients and visitors
- And more...

Memorial Hospice provides all types of assistance to terminally ill patients and their families so that they can spend their last days at home with pain and symptom control—surrounded by the people and objects that they love. Volunteers go to the patient's home to help caregivers by offering companionship, shopping, writing cards and other such duties.
Memorial offers a Volunteer Training Program twice a year. Volunteers are required to give Hospice four hours a week, either in patient care, bereavement, office work or fund-raising. Volunteers are screened and interviewed prior to training.
