Memorial Hosts 2010 Gulf Coast Start! Heart Walk Company Leaders Breakfast

The Gulf Coast chapter of the American Heart Association kicked off the 2010 Gulf Coast Start! Heart Walk on Thursday, June 24, with a breakfast hosted by Memorial.

Company leaders from across South Mississippi gathered in the Memorial Medical Office Building Atrium to learn the fundamentals of successful fundraising. Companies that participate in the Heart Walk can positively affect employee morale and physical well-being, all the while helping fight heart disease and stroke.

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, teams will gather at Centennial Plaza (formerly the Gulfport VA property) in Gulfport for the event, which is the largest fundraising walk along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is the largest Heart Walk throughout the state of Mississippi. Under the leadership of Memorial President/CEO Gary Marchand, the 2010 Heart Walk’s goal is to raise $595,000. Sponsors include Memorial, IP Casino Resort Spa, Yates Construction, Mississippi Power Company and Wal-Mart.
